Hi,
thank you for reporting this issue, however, I am not sure to understand what was the actual problem:
1) could you boot properly from the liveDVD and reach the Ubuntu desktop? (which boot option did you choose?)
2) after launching the installer, could you reach the stage where you can choose how to partition the disk?
3) did the installer fail during the copy phase or at the end (bootloader installation)
Also, it would be nice to give us some more details on the hardware you have been using (computer brand/model or CPU/chipset).

Hi,
I am able to solve the problem. However, when I tried to use the selection screen for installing caelinux, I was redirected to the desktop. So, if I tried to install it directly from the disc as first boot, I was not able to do that, but once I was in the desktop, I added the gnome menu and from there I went to show the desktop. I got 4 or 5 options which one of them is "Install Caelinux". This problem never occured in caelinux 2009, so I find it a bit strange. Nevertheless, thank you for compiling such a massive work.

I am sorry to ask a question which may not be related to the previous post.
I am going to try CAELinux2010 in AMD64 machine. This machine runs Ubuntu 10.04 64 bits.
Can I install CAELinux2010 in AMD64 as the second operating system, or I should install it in 32 bits machine?. I see in the ftp link only 1 version, there is indication 32 or 64.
Thanks and regards
Waluyo

@Ying wai Man:
Ok, now I see! It is the "Install" boot menu that does not work properly... I will see if I can fix this! Thank you for the feedback.
@Waluyo Adi Siswanto:
CAELinux 2009 & 2010 runs on x86 64bit platform.
CAELinux 2010 is actually based on Ubuntu 10.04 AMD64 so you won't have any bad surprise! Because of lack of time. I don't develop the 32bit version anymore...

Yes the keyboard layout was set to Swiss so changing to US fixed it thanks. The internet doesn't work for me either in wireless or cable mode, it worked OK in CAELinux 2009.
nb. What is the difference between eficasqt & tk? Seems that qt works well but tk has interface bugs.

It may be that your default keyboard is set to a different region/country than what it actually is. Go to System-> Preferences -> Keyboard and then to the "Layouts" tab and make sure the appropriate layout is selected.
Is you wired and wireless internet out?
