I get a malformed list error. Could you be a little more precise in how you did this, i.e., the exact line you wrote in your sources.list file.

once again here where it should have been placed some days before:

Browsed sourceforge and finally replaced it by direct sourceforge link:
sourceforge.net/projects/caelinux/files
(NOTICE: plural s in projects AND /files added)
and everything loaded well.
Also IMHO its better to use
sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list
SALOME-MECA-2013 now loaded under 13.04 ...

Hello Everybody,
I am sorry for all these problems with SourceForge.
When setting this up it was ok, but now things have changed and it requires some investigation from my side.
Also, for the trouble ticket system, I tried to open it to everyone, but this does not seem to work.
So if someone has experience with SourceForge services, I would greatly appreciate some help on that (we could have a second adminitrator for SourceForge for example)
As you imagine from the limited response from my side, I am very busy but I will do my best to fix these issues asap.
Best Regards
Joel Cugnoni

Hi again
I have tried to fix the repository issue (actually it is probably a problem with one of my scripts).
So , if not already done, to use the repository, you have to edit "sources.list" withand make sure to have the following line at the end (or elsewhere):then run
If you had the repository installed and want to make sure that it is updated, just comment the deb line on sources.list , run apt-get update, re-introduce the deb line and apt-get update again.
At least the repository works for me at the present time... let me know if it is not the case for you.
Cheers
Joel

Hi all,
maybe I was not too explicit in description because I was too much inside ...
Sorry Joel, don't have any exceeded sourceforge experience - just found it by searching sourceforge.
Now trying to explain it better:
1. Sourceforge original repository for direct download of e.g. 64bit 2013 version is the following URL:
The mirror link for the deb packages
right now redirects to the original sourceforge page with the URL given before.
2. With UBUNTU 13.04 installed and momentary only interested in latest SALOME-MECA I tried to download via apt-get from
but got troubles (don't remember the exact error messages anymore)
3. Changed my /etc/apt/sources.list manually with a sudo gedit by adding
(TAKE CARE: 2013 and testing is separated by a blank!)
4. Afterwards proceeded as Joel decribed some time ago:
sudo atp-get update
sudo apt-get install caelinux -apt-sources
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install SALOME-MECA-2013.1-LGPL
SALOME loaded and so far for me it was fine.
No test download with other package names (SATURNE, ASTER, ...)
Hope this helps anyone a little step further.
All the Best - Volker

Hi Volker,
thanks for the comment. Now I think that I understand.
Actually, there was a problem (my fault) with the repository which was creating malformed URLs when using Ubuntu 12.04 (with kent mirror and other).
Using "deb sourceforge.net/projects/caelinux/files 2013 testing" only works on Ubuntu 13.04 but generates an error on earlier versions (too long http header line), that is why I don't recommend it for all users.
Cheers
