Sorry. When running on Core I5 and Core I7 computer refuses to run even Wirtual Machine. Unfortunately Hangs.
Selection menu appears booting and all. After selection, the system does not respond. Perhaps really on Intel processors system is not workable.
Thank you for your attention.

In the last 24 hours I downloaded the CAElinux2013 iso and current versions of Virtualbox (4.3.6). Created a virtual machine for CAELinux. Booted machine and got the loading screen with Live, install etc options. Just waited for the countdown timer to time out and boot the default choice. After the timer reached 1 the boot process froze on the loading screen. Had to kill the machine. Tried again by choosing other loading screen options manually. In each case the process froze at the loading screen. I tried with a current Knoppix Live iso and it booted and ran properly.
I don't know enough to say whether its related to the Intel chipset but it so happens that I am running an Intel I5 2500k chip, 8GB ram, Geforce GTX 670 4Gvram. I have not yet tried to boot from a USB stick. Let me know if you need any more information to track down the problem.
EDIT #1: Booting from a USB stick worked. Looks like a Virtualbox issue. I'll try with VMware
EDIT #2: Works in WMware Player 6.0.1

Hi,
This issue is strange as I am using a Core i7 with virtualbox to develop CAElinux 2013..
Are you sure that you have enabled Intel VT (or Amd-v) in your bios and selected Ubuntu 64bit profile in virtual box? Also your host is needs to be 64bit.
If I remember well Vmware has different requirements and may run without Intel VT or And-v enabled.

Yes, I have Intel VT and it is enabled in my BIOS. Host is Windows Enterprise x64. Only thing I can't recall in your list is whether I consciously selected Ubuntu 64bit in the profile. I'll try again to be sure. My computer literacy is good ... I've been working in software dev for decades. Just the memory that fails every now and then
Since you develop successfully with VBox I'm curious as to which version of VBox are you running?
EDIT: False positive. I just tried again from scratch, reinstalling Vbox 4.3.6 and booting into a new CAELinux 2013 virtual machine. It worked properly. I'm writing this edit from with the CAELinux virtual machine! Sorry if I caused any concern.
