Umm - this is actually PCLinux OS (Texstar's distro). It is fully upgradable via Synaptic. I've upgraded my HD install to all the latest & greatest (PCLOS 0.92). Texstar is pretty thorought when it come to keeping things current.
The info for the public apt server is:
ftp.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/texstar/pclinuxos/apt/
pclinuxos/2004
os updates texstar
There's also a premium account server that Texstar will grant access to in exchange for a small donation.

Hi,
I will try to add octave-forge, vtk & octaviz in the next release in addition to openFOAM, paraview, mayaVi, VisIt, QCad ... but it may take me a while to setup correctly these tools in the new release, so maybe I will include them progressively.
Concerning the compilers: the distro includes allready make, gcc, g++ & g77 so you should be able to compile code. Concerning Intel compilers, I will not add it in the distro because of licensing problems. But anyway, it is very simple to install packages on PcLinuxOs after you install it on HD.

QCAD is in the PCLinuxOS repository so you can add it via Synaptic. I built some RPM's for OpenDX a while back, if anyone wants this app.

Hi,
thanks...
I have another program which might be interesting: OpenModelica
www.ida.liu.se/~pelab/modelica/OpenModelica.html
It has not to much to do with CFD, but for a CAE distro ...

Hello,
you are right, this can be interesting, but for the moment there is no Linux version of OpenModelica. So I will wait until it's out.
