I am looking to apply a moment on a cylinder. I have so far created a model and meshed it, I then added a node in the center of the top of the cylinder and then connected this node to 4 other nodes on the top surface of the cylinder which are in a group of nodes. I am now attempting to use Eficas to apply the moment to the node using force_nodale and apply the force to My.
I have been trying to piece together several examples but I do not understand what commands I should use to link the created node back to the model so that it transfers the moment. I am getting <F> Copy_Error is this because I need to create a new mesh for the node?
Any help would be really appreciated.

Hi Andre
Sorry for the late reply. I don't have a .erre file or at least I can't find one.
I'm trying to follow the three examples that Claus posted. What I'm struggling with is understanding the relationships created between faces/nodes etc and how to apply them to different models. Basically what the rules are concerning them!
Regards
James

Hello,
I know that a loong time has passed, but, is there any sinal of these files that you've attached ? rigid_element and tube ?
I will do your tutorial : www.caelinux.org/wiki/index.php/Contrib:...er/10_x_cases/torque
But if they still exist, could become usefull.
I will need to apply torsion to a cylinder.
After these years, this is still the only way to do it?
Best Regards.

Code_Aster release : STA11.4 on OpenSUSE 12.3 64 bits - EDF/Intel version

Yup - found the file in question.
If the way I describe is still the most proper way to induce torque in a model, I don't know - there has been some developments since then: www.code-aster.org/forum2/viewtopic.php?id=15029
Search for RBE3 here
www.code-aster.org/documents/histor/en/11.1.13.txt
Which of these are best, I am not qualified to answer - but my guess is RBE3 - you should be able to use that while following my tutorial
Let me know how it goes - some of those tutorial are due for an update.

Hoi Caelinuxers,
see also this topic:
www.code-aster.org/forum2/viewtopic.php?id=18439
At the moment I am using the RBE3 constraint for testing a torsion beam.
I will put it on the wiki soon.
