Actually I must admit it wasn't as easy as I laid it out to be, I just tried and had to resort to the example I have saved on my HD (found it!) - it contains three approaches so you can pick the one that suits you.

Is there a way to visualize the groups of the mesh ?
Because I can see the .unv files with GMSH but I don't know how to visualize the groups. With I-DEAS, there are errors at the reading and only some nodes can be seen (version 11 of I-DEAS).

Do you have the .med files ?

You can use Salomé's mesh module to visualize the mesh groups. If you prefer .med format you can convert the mesh file using ASTK mesh convert tool - or load the .unv in Salomé and export it as .med
