Hoi James

You need to connect your beams to the solids in your comm file I guess. Eg have a look here (probably not the best example but to start with it might be alright): www.code-aster.org/forum2/viewtopic.php?id=12506

Kind regards.

Interest: structural mechanics, solar energy (picture at 'my location' shows too little pv panels)

Thanks Kees,

I had to use AFEE_MODELE to assign the group of beam elements a MODELISATION='POU_D_E'. I then defined them under AFFE_CARA_ELEM...POUTRE. This then has to go under MECA_STATIQUE...CARA_ELEM. I also made a LIASON_SOLIDE under AFFE_CHAR_MECA with the node 'Force' and the node group 'nodegrp'.

All works out then, apart from it seemed to effect my result slightly! I'm not sure why though :S

Thanks for the help

James
