ASTK, job pending... for ever was created by hpon
Hi,
I'm trying to run my first simulation in Salome-Meca and the execution does not seem to start. I'm in the "ASTK, progress of jobs" window and it says "PEND _", and nothing ever happens.
I'm clueless. Is something wrong? How do I move forward?
I don't know what more information you might need to identify the problem, but I welcome your questions.
Regards,
hpon

Hoi Hpon
a few suggestions:
- did you uncheck the 'interactive follow-up' in the astk window? (Here astk does not run when checked.)
- have a look at the message window: at the top-right astk window click 'Help' --> select 'Messages windows ...' and have a look.
- if you have a problem with ssh or rcp have a look at this forum on this subject (copy problems).
- have a look in the flasheur directory, but maybe there is no output if astk does not run.

Hi Kees,
Thank you for the tips!
I still cannot get it to work though. But I had a look in the "flasheur" folder and found the following:
[code:1] # USAGE DE LA MEMOIRE JEVEUX
# - MEMOIRE DYNAMIQUE CONSOMMEE : 0.00 Mo (MAXIMUM ATTEINT : 31.73 Mo)
# - MEMOIRE UTILISEE : 0.00 Mo (MAXIMUM ATTEINT : 19.51 Mo)
# FIN COMMANDE NO : 0009 DUREE TOTALE: 0.06s (SYST: 0.04s)
#
<I> <INFORMATION TEMPS D'EXECUTION> (EN SECONDE)
TEMPS CPU TOTAL .............. 4.65
TEMPS CPU USER TOTAL ......... 4.16
TEMPS CPU SYSTEME TOTAL ...... 0.49
TEMPS CPU RESTANT ............ 295.35
JDC.py : ERREUR A L'EXECUTION - INTERRUPTION
>> JDC.py : DEBUT RAPPORT
CR d'execution de JDC en MIXTE
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
! <S> Exception utilisateur levee mais pas interceptee. !
! Les bases sont fermees. !
! error : <EXCEPTION LEVEE> ALGELINE3_25 !
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
fin CR d'execution de JDC en MIXTE[/code:1]
This leads me to three questions:
1) does the output say that there is an insufficient amount of memory available?
2) if so, how do I enable more memory? The computer has 2 GB RAM.
3) where can I find the definitions of ALGELINE3_25 and other such cryptic terms?
/hpon

Please, coould you post the whole "file.eXXXX" from your flasheur directory? Attached as zipped file is ok.
Second thing: try to search for keywords in the "www.code-aster.org" forum. I did it for you and the "ALGELINE" error seems to be realted to a lack of memory. If this is the real problem, you can do the following:
1) reduce the number of nodes in your model
2) pass to a 64bit version of code-aster.

Could also be the server settings. In ASTK select Configuration -> Servers ...
Select "Serveur local" and check "Check this box if this server is the local machine". Click "Refresh now !" to see if you are able to contact the server.

Thank you Alessandro and Torben!
I have attached the "e" file and a screen-shot of the astk configuration window.
There are only 5788 nodes in the mesh, and there is no excessive memory use according to the System Monitor.
Truly appreciate your efforts to help me out!
