When I boot from the LiveDVD and look for the internal drives I am finding them in the /media directory. Hence, they are not in the /dev directory. I am not sure if this is the issue but it is new data I found when trying to use the fdisk command on the drive.

It doesn't give any error codes, it just runs and runs. No progress is reported after the point it has finished copying the files.

Ok, I see the partitions of the drives in the /dev directory sda, sda1, sdb, sdb1, etc. The drive I want is actually sdd and it has what appears as 4 partitions: sdd, sdd1, sdd2, sdd5 which seems odd too.

I was able to get CAELinux to load finally. It may have been a memory issue with one of my modules going bad. However, now I am unable to get the computer to boot in linux. It keeps booting with Windows XP. I think I need to set up GRUB2 some what but doesn't that require being booted up from the hard disk in Linux? I have XP and CAELinux on completely separate drives.
