I'm going to give this a go. follow on question: This would run as a 'virtual liveDvD' no? (regarding setting up RAMDisk, complications in preserving settings, etc.)
I should be able to go about doing a \"virtual\" HDD install from the mounted LiveDVD, thus creating a VirtualBox installed version, rather equivalent to the VMWare distribution, right? I could work around the \"Virtual LiveDVD\" limits, but I'd imagine if the performance progression is HDD Install > LiveDVD > VM version, then a VM'd LiveDVD wouldn't be much of an improvement.

Hello,
I use exactly the same procedure to create VMWare version:
1) create a VM (disk, settings etc..)
2) boot VM from LiveDVD & install as on a real PC
That's it!
