Hi,
to Salome version in the DVD is not able to export unv files with groups.
You can install the latest salome version if you install on hard disk, or if you use the VMWare player. I tried it out of curiosity, but to my surprise I was able to install the new version of Salome under the VMware image, using the player...
So as long as you are able to create the right groups, upgrading Salome is (almost) painless...
On the other hand if you build or import your geometry, then you can partition it (that you have done). At this point if you explode the geometry in solid you have the blocks that should be used for the groups generation.

Hi, Massimo,
Thanks a lot! In Salome 2.2.8, I was able to create volume groups using explode - sweet!
Now, I have to get Salome 3.2.1 installed.
