This relates to my previous post... If you install CAELinuxB2 to your hard drive and then upgrade python to v2.4.2 via Synaptic, Salome will not start because the upgrade screws up omniorb. The error I was getting from Salome was because my current system runs python 2.4.2 instead of 2.3.4. I think the solution is to build python from sources during the Salome install.
