Regarding editing & drawing fillet to object was created by Nishant Lawand
hi,

I am working with Salome. I have some problems in the Geometry module, they are as follows:

1) If i have drawn a object (eg. cylinder) with certain dimensions & have further performed some Boolean operations with other objects. Now if I have to edit the object by making certain changes in the dimensions (eg. height, diameter) of it , its not possible. I have to delete the whole object & create a new one & again repeat the boolean operations. Is there any method of editing the parent object so that the changes are subsequently refelected in the further followed operations (here in case the Boolean operations).

2) I face a problem at the fillet operation. This fillet takes place on the whole object & not on the specific edges of the object. I have expoded the object for faces & edges & also tried with the 2nd Constructor & 3rd Constructor of the fillet operations but while performing this the fillet operation is not able to select the other two options at the top of the fillet Constuction window niether it selects the object on which fillet operation is to be carried out.

Help me to find a way through this difficulty.

Thanking you,

Nishant.

Hi,

here are some (maybe disappointing) answers:
1) this behaviour is the \"normal\" way things work in Salomé: even if you see some nice construction tree, Salomé is not a relational / parametric CAD system, so all objects are just copies (or snapshots) and are not directly related together. There will be (or is but I don't know) a support for exporting the model in a Python script so we can \"regenerate\" the model by just running this script with small modifications... but to learn more on that subject, try to ask your question on Salomé forums.

2) when working in GEOM, try to create an OCC view (Window->New OCC Window), as it is much more efficient to select geometrical entities interactively and some features are only possible when working in this view (such as sub-component selection...)

Good luck
