External Flow Tutorial was created by Jeff
Does anyone know of any tutorials for external flow problems, such as flow around an airfoil, for OpenFOAM. I mainly interested in the preprocessing/meshing part, I can figure out the rest.
BTW, I really like the tutorials that you have included with this OS, they have really helped me transitioning into these unfamiliar FEA/CFD software.
Thank You,
Jeff

Hi Jeff,
did you read www.salome-platform.org/forum/?thread=38...0&message_id=380
it`s a discussion about 2d meshing of an airfoil
" 2D mesh for external flow computation (batch and tui)"
erwan.adam.free.fr/Salome/airfoil_test_r1.png
erwan.adam.free.fr/Salome/ links to scripts
If you find a way for 3D meshing, please give me a hint!!
Always wanted to try meshing the www.opencascade.org/ex/att/33_moto.brep.gz
or the www.opencascade.org/ex/att/18_f1.brep.gz using salome

I'm a total newb to CFD, but certainly not to CAD and 3D modeling. I might be over simplifying things here, but it seems all you would have to do is create a box which serves as the "windtunnel" so to say, then create the object you want to do the external study of inside the box. Finally do a subtraction of the object from the box and mesh the resulting solid object and run your studies on it.
