Salome fails to start was created by admin
I have received a couple of feedbacks indicating that Salome fails to start from the liveDVD.
Most of these kind of failures are due to \"timeout\" during the loading of the modules of Salome. This only happens when running from a DVD. The cause of the problem is that reading from a compressed DVD is much slower than reading from an harddisk. To solve the problem, usually, the simplest way is usually to retry several times until it starts (you may need to run a terminal and kill the processes called \"SALOME\").
Here is a list of posts on this forum that deals with this problem:
caelinux.com/CMS/index.php?option=com_si...t=6&limitstart=0
caelinux.com/CMS/index.php?option=com_si...tid=2&id=644#644
If these solutions do not help, you should try to investigate a bit further. To try to gain more informations on the problem, we would need some more informations like: which version of CAELinux or Salome & how much RAM you have on your computer, on which account you are trying to run Salome (root?, guest?)...
Moreover, running Salome from a terminal may give more detailed informations.
To do so, open a terminal and run :
Good luck !!
