Bonjour,

Hello,

I am very sorry, but my french is really poor, as it probably is for a lot of users (and which is something a general code aster problem). I would like to propose to just post in english over here. French posts should be posted at the nearly completely french code_aster forum....Sorry, but I don't want to get rude but french isn't really a world language that everybody understands....Personally, I speak 3 languages fluently, but in french I can only order a beer.....Please take this in mind. I think, all the topics in the forum should be of benifit for all the users (and I think, that possible users of code_aster are engineers and at least should speak a little english).

Regards,

Arnold

Dear Arnold,

I understand your point of view... but this post is in the "francophone" forum of CAELinux (=french speaking).. so it is at the right place. All other forums & docs on CAELinux are in english and there are only few posts in this french forum; so I don't really think that there is a huge problem. Additionnally, you can freely post in english on Code-Aster forums as well, it is really welcome!

I know that the Aster community is mainly speaking french and that it can be frustrating to learn the code. In my opinion, the real big "problem" is that most of the experienced users of Aster are french people (mostly because they learned it while working at / for EDF) and most of the beginners are not. Additionnaly, CAELinux being more oriented towards the beginners, its forums are not much visited by the "Aster experts"... but the "Aster experts" at code-aster.org can also write in english, so don't hesitate to get in touch with them!

I hope that you also understand my point of view... the French forum here is also a good way to attract more "Aster experts" on CAELinux forums..

For your information, here is the translation of the previous post:

The Code-Aster examples are not included in CAELinux 2007, but you can easily get them by downloading the aster 9.1 source archive frem code-aster.org. Then extract the archive, extract once again the aster source tar.gz and then copy the "STA9.1/astest" folder containing all the example / validation files to a "safe place".

The next release (to be published in a few days) will directly open both the English & French Code-Aster documentation when requesting information in Eficas; the examples are included as well and there is also a small "search engine" to browse the English Code-Aster doc.

Regards,

Joël
