Thermal+Mechanical simulation was created by Michal Nytra
Hello,

I am new in using Code-Aster and Salome Meca for finite element method simulation. I would like to ask, if there is a way how to combine thermal and mechanical simulation, for example if I have wheel, which rotates in high temperature and I want to calculate maximum displacement.

Thanks for message. Michal Nytra.

Hi

You have to calculate the the problem in two stages: first apply the thermal loads, calculate, then re-use the result to calculate the mechanical response.

Search for coupled thermal mechanical simulation; this is a frequently asked question :)

Hoi Michal

and the Code Aster Team example:

Interest: structural mechanics, solar energy (picture at 'my location' shows too little pv panels)

Yes, I know about this document. But I dont know how to use 2 different meshes in one calculation and because of this fact I asked for an example of some user of Code-Aster. I will try it.

Hoi Michal

To start with, just use the same mesh for the thermal and mechanical analysis and follow the procedure outlined in the CA document.
If you need help for selecting the correct thermal load (thermal time step), I can give you an example (I have the idea to write an wiki about this for several month now).
I you use different meshes for thermal and mechanical, you can project the temperature distribution of the thermal calculation on to the mechanical mesh, apply your mechanical boundary conditions, etc and do the mechanical analysis.

Ok, I will try one mesh for both analysis.
And if I want to use 2 meshes, I have to create 2 diferent meshes in MESH module, am I right?
