The things that bind us, far outweigh that which divide us
geometric nonlinear deflection of cantilever was created by Saien Rugdeo
Greetings all.
I am new to Code_Aster and Salome Meca. I have downloaded CAELinux which has Salome v6.6 (2013.1 displayed when product is launched). I am trying to model the geometric nonlinear deflection of a thin cantilever using a 2D shell for the geometry. From prior knowledge of nonlinear analysis I know that the application of the load needs to be stepped in increments up to the full load value. I have looked for cases where this sort of load application is done and have not had any success. I generally generate the .comm file using eficas (version 10 of Code_Aster seems to work most often so i generally select that).
Does anyone have any knowledge that can assist with my problem, or can you suggest a link to a solved problem that could assist me
I have attached the .hdf file for the study as well as the .step geometry and a csv file that contains the load increment values that i wish to apply to the free end of the model

Code_Aster release : STA11.4 on OpenSUSE 12.3 64 bits - EDF/Intel version

Hi.
Try to attach the files again - at least just the comm and message file. Those will give the best clues.

For some reason, I cannot get these attachments working. Is there a possibility I could email you the attachments to take a look at?

Although it will be annoying for future users (file not found etc.), you can upload the files to a file sharing site, so more people can look at them and possible help.

That is a good idea. Here is a link to the Study file and the geometry.
