Extract a part of the model to continue Simulation was created by Helfenstein
Hi Everybody,
I simulated a deep draw process (more specific a collar forming process). Within this simulation I have apart from the formed part also a matrix, two stamps and a blank holder.
In a new simulation I would like to extract the mesh and the results of the formed part only. These results should be used in a new simulation where the formed collar should be pressed to a pin to analyze the contact faces and pressures in the assembled state.
How can I extract the results of the formed part only?
I tried it with IMPR_RESU(FORMAT=’MED’, …) and chose the group of faces of the formed part and write it to a RMED file. If I open this in ParaVis it looks correct but when I try to use it for a new simulation it ask to define all the elements. I found that the whole mesh was extracted but it seems that only the fields of the formed parts are there.
Thank you in advance for every hint.
Best regards,
Urs
