Hello all,

I created a solid model and meshed it in Salome 3.2.2. Then created two groups called \"Fixed\" and \"Load\" and exported to a MED file. The attached jpg file shows a screen dump, where the \"Fixed\" faces are the four edge surfaces of the rectangular part, and the \"Load\" is applied to the cylindrical central hole. When I run Code-Aster 8.3 I get an error:

FAMILLE : FAM_-1_Group_Of_All_Edges
LE NOM DU GROUPE NUMERO 1 EST TROP LONG (18 CARACTERES):
Group_Of_All_Edges

CELA EST CONFORME AUX CONVENTIONS MED : LE NOM D'UN GROUPE DOIT ETRE AU PLUS DE 80 CARACTERES.
MAIS CODE_ASTER NE SAIT TRAITER QUE DES NOMS D'AU PLUS 8 CARACTERES.
DECLAREZ UNE ANOMALIE

IMPOSSIBLE DE LIRE CE FICHIER.

I have been using salome 3.2.1 briefly, but upgraded to 3.2.2 about a week ago. I realize that Code-Aster does not like group names longer than 8, but I have no idea where the \"Group_Of_All_Edges\" came from. I did not knowingly create it. Would somebody kindly help please?

Thanks
JMB

PS: I do not know how to attach the jpg file here...

Hello all,

I think I found the answer to my problem. One should not check off the \"Automatically create groups\" box when exporting to a MED file from Salome.
