English RESU file

I understand that using DEBUT(LANG='EN',) in the comm file should give english messages in the RESU file. What I get however is French (I think) text garbled with other caracters like " élément ayant une "rigidité ". I get the same result with DEBUT().

So 2 questions, what should I do to get the English messages and what should I do proper French messages.

I am using Code Aster 11.4 in Salome-Meca 13.2 in Ubuntu 12.04 fully updated.
