Symmetric Boundary Condition for Pressure Vessel was created by Dharmit
Hi,
I want to do FEA of Pressure Vessel and tried to use LIAISON_OBLIQUE with no luck. Link to that discussion here www.code-aster.org/forum2/viewtopic.php?pid=41294
Vessel OD = 3000mm
Nozzle OD = 300mm
Vessel and Nozzle thickness = 10mm
Internal Pressure = 0.5MPa
Lateral Force = 9000N
Visual representation is at engineering.moonish.biz/engineering-info...-nozzle-second-pass/
I want to use boundary condition on the two vertical faces of the shell such that Radial displacement of both faces is constant, so that the movement of Shell as shown at engineering.moonish.biz/engineering-info...-nozzle-second-pass/ doesnot happen.
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks
Dharmit

Code_Aster release : STA11.4 on OpenSUSE 12.3 64 bits - EDF/Intel version

Im not entirely sure what lateral force you apply to the nozzle. Perhaps a drawing with force-vectors would help.
Why don't you just rotate your part 45deg and use X/Y-axis for constraints? Then apply your force by components.
That way you eliminate the whole LIAISON_OBLIQUE mess

Hi claws,
I have already tried to analyse it in positive xy quadrant with one face having dx=0 and other having dy=0 with the same result I got for when the nozzle is pointing in +x direction. I want to have a model in which deformation of geometry occurs such that dx+dy displacement for both vertical faces is equal.
Thanks
Dharmit
