modal analysis was created by kirill
Hi.
I have a big problem...
I want to calculate resonance freq of the modes of thin curved metal pipe fixed in two sides of it.
I made a simple analysis of a well known solutions and the aster code solves this perfectly.
When I go thru the modal analysis wizard of my model I am getting wrong answers (I have cheeked it in comsole and solidwors) it is like double frequencies... any help???

You need to provide much more information, if you want an answer.
Project files, expected results etc.

I am attaching the jpg file of the problem...
my question is simple: I am sure that the problem is the mesh of the model... Wat is the right type of the mesh for modal analysis of pipe like in the jpg file.
thanks.
P.S.
If you need more information tell me plese.

The results:
You can see the freq of the construction.
I show the first mode only...

Your mesh looks ok - it's evenly spaced, and reasonably dense. You say it is a thin structure? How many elements compose the wall thickness? You might want to try simulating your problem with shells (I don't know if the wizard allows this). If you're still convinced it's a problem with the 3D mesh, you could try meshing it with hexahedrons, paying attention to elements/wall thickness.
Ps. how far off are your results?

I think that the wall thickness is about 2 tetraheders.
Tell me how can I increase the number...
The simulation of full pipe (not a thin wall is really good...)
