alright, that makes sense: the second part is connected to the first part by two areas sliding over each other. The a rigid body movement is always possible.

Yes, that works with pins intersecting both parts providing lateral location. It makes sense really, with the parts allowed to slide there was no lateral constraint at all on one of the parts.
