Simple question: how to do directional load? was created by Phill Christiansen
Hi there. I realize this is probably a very silly, simple question, but I can't seem to find the answer.

When I use the Linear Elasticity wizzard, it only asks for a pressure, not a directional load. How do I put a direction on it?

If there's a tutorial somewhere that answers this, I'm happy to look at that, I just couldn't find one.

Thanks!

To apply a directional load you have to select the .comm file in the Aster tree, right click and select 'open with Eficas' (or something like that) - in Eficas you have the command file for the FE analysis, find AFFE_CHAR_MECA (apply_load_mechanical) and delete (supprimer) the PRESS_REP keyword and insert a new keyword e.g. FORCE_FACE.

FORCE_FACE needs a mesh group (GROUP_MA) which is your face group and then you can apply either FX,FY or FZ or a combination.

In the wiki there are different examples you can look at.
