bending problem was created by seb
I´m a new CAELinux user and I have some problems with results given by Salome meca and code_aster wizard
I´ll try to describe you as precisely qs possible what I did and why I have a problem

With Salome_meca 3.2.9
1)Salome
-new study

2) Geometry
-New Entity -> Primitives -> Box
-Dimensions qt origine
Dx:1
Dy:0.1
Dz:0.01
-New Entity -> Group -> Create
-Shape Type -> Face
Group_1 face on the plane x=0
Group_2 face on the plane z=0.01

3)Mesh
Mesh -> Create Mesh -> Assign a set of hypotheses -> Automatic Hexahedralization -> Fineness = 0
Nodes:612
Edges:160
Faces:482
Volumes: 330

4) Aster
Code_Aster Wizards -> Linear Elasticity
-Kind of model: 3D
-Kind of Salome Object: Geometry
-E=210e9
-NU=0.4
-Group_1: DX=DY=DZ=0
-Group_2: Pression=3e5
Code_Aster Case -> Solve

5)Post-Pro
Resu____DEPL: between 0 and 0.469
Resu___EQUI_NOEU_SIGM: Between 0 and 6.29e9
Resu___EQUI_NOEU_DEPL: Between 0 and 5.5e9

But if I calculate by hand this simple case, using bending equations, SIGM is between 0 and 9e9 (Pa)

How can I correct this difference ? and why a so big difference ?

I really need your help

best regards

Hi

It seems that your mesh is not appropriate: you should check your mesh convergence.

Read this very interesting contribution, it will help you to understand which elements to choose and how fine your mesh should be.

A quick "tip": USE QUADRATIC ELEMENTS (modify mesh => convert linear to quadratic) and use at least 2-3 elements across the thickness of your beam.

You should get much better results with a correct mesh

thank you very much :cheer:
I changed my mesh using convert linear to quadratic bu the result keep on being the same
in fact my problem was solve using the good display mode
I changed Modulus display to VMS and now it is OK :blush:
thank for your help
unfortunately now i have an over problem
if I do not save the .comm file on my Desktop, this error message appear:
Unexpected Error
TYPE = exceptions.KeyError
VALUE=6
I do not understand why
thanks for your help

Hoi Barbier

I have the same problem with Salome 3.2.9: starting CA directly from the Salome gives me the same error. I cannot solve it either. So instead of running directly from the 'object browser' window in Salome, I select in the Code Aster module in Salome the 'Code Aster Tools' --> 'Advanced Study Manager ASTK'. After updating ASTK (providing the appropriate remaining files, comm and med files are already given by Salome), running Code Aster from ASTK (hit 'run') causes no problem.

So any suggestions regarding this error are still welcome.
