Easy question regarding Force Face command

Hello,

I am using force face to apply a unidirectional load to a curved face of a half-cylinder. Is the force applied per area going to be the total surface area (Pi*R*height) of the cylinder, or will it be the area of the projection (R*height) of the face in the direction of the force vector??

Actually I think I just answered my own question, it is the total surface area right? If I apply a shear load on a cube face it will still deform even though Area_vector dotproduct F_vector = 0.

Am I correct?

Thanks a lot!!

Dear Andrew,

Your right !!
With Force_Face you need to enter the force per unit area of the surface (=total surface, not the projection)! In fact it is the same as Press_Rep (pressure) but you can specify the load direction.
