Piston tutorial halting

Hello,

I have been trying to figure out the cause of the problem with Code_Aster stopping. Follwing the tutorial ( here )
all the way to solving, Aster halts moments after I press "solve".
I am running Salome-Meca on Fedora 8 (64bit). Below is the message I receive . Thank you in advance.

I'm also using Fedora 8 (32 bit though) with SalomeMecha 2008...it doesn't seem to matter what I do (or which tutorial I follow) I get an error when trying to run the aster solver:

in a popup warning window (I never see a console like in the example videos)

Unexpected Error

I've tried unchecking interactive with no effect.

Any idea what this might be? On your F8 install, did you have to do anything to get SalomeMecha 2008 going? Everything seems to be fine...meshing and all other functionality required for basic tutorials. I installed with the installer downloaded from www.caelinux.com/forms/dlsalomemeca2008.php

confirmed...doesn't matter what tutorial...it seems like the aster module isn't working right. Are there any files on the web I can just import and run? I need to narrow down if it's me making an error or really the install.
