Hello everybody,
When I use EFICAS/patron/salomé thermal_lin module according to the usual way (NewFEana
lysis+ astk solver),the calculation seems going well but the resmed file remains empty.
Salomé post treatment did not work of course.
The error message File indicates only and systematicaly for many tests I have done this
message:
<F><PrePost3_10>
soit le fichier n'existe pas, soit c'est une mauvaise version de hdf (utilisé
par Med) Cette erreur est fatale.Le code s'arrete.
I try to check format and unit options in EFICAS (ex:FIN> hdf:'oui' or 'non') w/o success.
When I use the mechanical applications( piston or JML tutorials), code_aster runs
well and I can also use Salome Post treatment.
Does it mean that the Salome thermal wizard has specific properties I don't know?
Is there anybody to tell me the trick ?
Thank's.
Claude
PS:I am using CAElinux beta3 version for this, but I have the same problem with CAElinux 2007 thermal wizard.

Hello,
this comes from a "mistake" in the "patron" (template):
in the LIRE_MAIL command, the unit number is set correctly.
If I remember well, it should be set to 20 instead of 21 (or it's just the opposite).
Anyway, if in ASTK your input MED mesh is associated to the unit number X, then the LIRE_MAIL command should include: FORMAT=MED, UNIT=X.
This should normally solve this issue.

Hello Joël,
Thank you for your collaboration Joël but I don't succeed for solving my problem.
It seems that it is not a problem of unit in LIRE_MAILLAGE.
Really What I need is a very simple tutorial for the THERM_LIN template. I say starting only from Salome mesh file export (in MED2.2) to Astk through NewFEA and post treatment.
Who can do this exercise?
I looked to the Univ of Alberta ANSYS tutorials and such exemples would be very usefull.
Claude.

Hello,
sorry if this did not solve the issue.
I should have some "preliminary stage" flash video on linear thermal analysis based on Salome Meca 2007 / CAELinux 2007.
In this video, we do not use the "patron" from Eficas but we use the "Linear Thermal Analysis Wizard" of Salome_Meca.
Would it be interesting for you?
I can post it on the Wiki if you want (but it may need some "polishing").
Another option would be to compress all your astk, comm, mesh.med, .mess files and put it on this forum so that I can have a look...

Hello Joël,
I am happy, using CAElinux 2007, the linear thermal wizard of Salome_meca works perfectly!
I am sorry to have spent your time for so easy solution, but I was convinced to have used this tutorial without success. It would be certainly the EFICAS one again.
Thanks a lot,
Claude
