Code-Aster under windows was created by Jacopo
Hello, to all forum.
I'm asking some question about code-aster under windows.
I have download Code-aster for windows from www.necs.fr.
I'm starting to use code-aster and salomè with VMware, but to solve the problem with VMware is to difficult because my pC is not so powerfull.
So I decide to install Code-Aster on my Windows system and after preparing the file on Salomè I exsport the astk file.
When I try to use the file astk on windows I don't know if I must open the file of astk and change some parametre as the path of the err mess, and other directory and probabbly insert again the material properties, Is there some one that can explane me better what parameter I must change to run aster under windows after preparing file in Salomè with VMware ?
Are there any version of salomè that can run under windows'
Are there any alternative sw pre and post processor instead of Salomè?
Regards
Jacopo

Ciao Jacopo
first a question: why don't You use CAELinux as hard-disk-installed operative system which?
I have made the same annoying experience when transfering Code-aster-files from Linux to Windows (or vice versa). But the directory names in the ASTK-window (or -after exporting- in the export file) are the only parameters which You have to change. You have not to define again material properties or anything else.
alternative sw pre and post processor instead of Salomè: I am convinced, there is no better alternative if You don't want to pay.

Hi,
I haven't tested this, but I guess moving from salome under Linux to code-aster under windows shouldn't be a problem, because the med file format is binary.
Moreover code-aster under windows needs paths without spaces, so check all the paths and your windows user name (must have not spaces too).
