Torque - Moment de torsion was created by giovanni
i have some troubles to give a torque (momnent d'axe) to a face of a 3D model. Which is the command? I supposed FORCE_FACE but it doesn't allowed the Mx!
thanks
thanks

Ciao Giovanni
nodes to which only 3D-elements are connected (MODELISATION=3D) do not have rotational DOFs (degree of freedom), only the translational DOFs.
Thus, a moment can be applyed only by (translational) forces. The forces must vary along a direction perpendicular to the forces' direction. Another way to apply a moment is to add other elements to the nodes (of the 3D-elements), for example some beam-elements (MODELISATION=POU_**). Then the nodes will have all DOFs necessary for beams (6). You can then apply nodal moments. Or You include Your 2D-border-elements (which normally You use only for applying boundary conditions and pressure and so on) in You AFFE_MODELE-command, making them shell-elements (MODELISATION=DKT or DST, (I'm not shure). Then the nodes will have the 2 rotational DOFs about directions of their plane.
Good luck, Johannes

Im not much into manual editing of comm-files yet (I'm slowly learning) but I have the exact same set-up, could someone post an example with files, so I can learn from them?
cheers
edit: pic of setup. I have the results from MathCAD but would like to check with Aster.
