Fasle results was created by benoit
Hello

Before using Salome/Aster for real cases, I made a comparison with hand calculations :

The results of Aster are 450 to 520 times smaller than hand calculation. I checked it with a simple soft : the hand calculation are OK.

I am working with simple elastic cases (with newtons and meters). and didn't find anything about it.

Does some one has an idea ?????

Thank you

Hi Benoit,

From my experience, I think that this should not be a fault in Code_Aster as it is systematically tested over more than 1'000 test cases before it is released & the code as passed certification for Nuclear Power Plant design.

But I think this can come from your modelling:
what is your test case (geometry, loading, materials) & what are you comparing (and where)? Can you describe your FE model (number of elements, type of the elements, number of nodes)?

And which analytical model are you using to compare with?

But you are right: before using a FE code for real calculation, it is always important to check it's consistency with simple cases.

Now we just need to figure out what's wrong in this case...

Hello

Thank you for your answer.

I have found where was my mistake, i was using the total load on a face and Aster was using it as a load per meter square.

Now I a am going to use Aster for my real case, thank you for your help.
