Hi! I have Windows 8 and after booting from the CD and playing around, I think I'd like to install this on the harddrive. When I started the process it said it couldn't detect another operating system on my computer. I clicked again and it said it would partition the computer, but it came back with what looked like 7 or 8 divisions, none of which looked like contained the original Windows. Is this normal? Do I just accept it? Thoughts from others? Should I just boot from disk?
Also, can I just mount the CD at anytime to start the Linux or do I need to shut down and restart the computer?
Thanks!!
Mike

Ok, I've installed the VMPlayer and now want to install the CAELinux into the virtual system. I'm presented with the window that says, "The computer has detected no operating systems. Do I want to Erase Disk and install CAELinux2013 or Something Else. I tried "Something Else" but there's no root directory so it didn't like it.
I assume this means that the Virtual machine that I'm trying to create CAELinux on, is just the 40G I gave it. So, if I click Erase Disk, I won't erase my entire Harddrive of Windows, but will only erase the "virtual Disk".
Am I correct?
Thanks!!

OK. I bit the bullet, figuring it wouldn't delete without asking for permission. So, I saw that it's only looking at the virtual disk not the entire disk.
Thanks!
