No Internet via VMWare was created by Daniel Kuras
I'm attempting to run CAELinux 2013 on my Windows 8.1 x64 machine via VMWare. CAELinux runs and I can access its applications, but I cannot get on the Internet. VMWare indicates that it is connected to the Internet; Linux 12 indicates that it is connected to the Internet via VMWare, yet I cannot ping anything or even install updates. I've tried several different network settings on VMWare and several different network settings on Ubuntu but still cannot get on the Internet. VirtualBox is out because I cannot disable its VT-x module, and my Core2 Quad processor does not support Hyper-V. Can someone please help?

Thanks

Problem solved. My firewall was blocking the Linux virtual NIC. I've set the firewall to allow virtual NIC traffic.
