Option to install LILO was created by Michael Page
Hi, it's the second time that I have a error at the boot of my computer. I've the message L 99 99 99 99 99 99 ... I read that it's my boot program (LILO) who is scrap.
So, my question is: is it possible to add an option on the Live CD to install only LILO?
Thanks,
Michael Page

Hi,
I cannot tell you why it happens.. some mysterious thing happens in Computers..
but i can try to help you to fix this problem:
1) boot from liveDVD with root account
2) in My Computer go to your hdd linux partition and copy the file etc/lilo.conf in a temp directory (/tmp for example)
3) open a Terminal and type this
lilo -C /tmp/lilo.conf
This should reinstall LILO with your previous settings.
If this does not work, it might be because the boot partition is not at the same location as it was previously (can happen with if USB drives are already inserted at boot).
Hope this will solve your problem!

Hi, thanks for your help. I'll try this if it's happen again. For now, I have reinstalled CEALinux.
Also, I try the command redo-lilo on the Konsole from the LiveDVD but it didn't resolve my problem.
Thank you,
Michaël Pagé
