installation and modification of settings

Hi gents,

download and installtion was sucessful / at least the start up.

I had previously installed Ubuntu on the computer and setting was perfect.

Now installing CAELinux, screen setting can not be changed to 1920x1080
xrandr shows only
1280x 1024
1024x 768

Also, wlan is not working.

less /etc/issue command shows Ubuntu10.04.3 LTS \n \l

Maybe someone can provide some advise.
