Hi everybody,
from few days it's out ubuntu 11.04. Have anyone tried to update CAElinux 2010 to this version of ubuntu?
Is it advisable trying?

can anyone answer my question? I know It's not an essential problem, but seen that the new version of ubutu have a loto of new features I'd like to try it :).

You could volunteer to be a guinea-pig :)
Try installing CAELinux in a virtual machine (e.g. with VirtualBox) and let it upgrade - see what happens and report back :)
I have no intention of upgrading from my comfy and working 10.04LTS :)

Hi,

for your information, I tried an distro upgrade from CAELinux 2010 / Ubuntu 10.04LTS to 10.10. Result: everything went fine and Salome, Aster, Saturne, GMSH, Netgen, Paraview, ITKSnap, Elmer all worked perfectly after upgrade...

However, I don't recommend upgrading if you don't have an excellent reason (hardware support for example)!

Hi there I updated to 11.04

and it breaks Salome and a few other programs ( not sure which)

Also Im not 100% sure but dont update , as last nite I updated my CAElinux machine clicked yes to update and Salome appeared to be broken ,,the apply button didnt work
