Update Ubuntu was created by HatBill
Hi all and thank's for yr help.

How can I update Ubuntu 8.04. It seem ther'r no possibility with the standard update menu.
And what is the max version it's possible to use with CAE.
I would update because v8.04 don't reconize HD in IDE mode and as I have dual boot with windows XP (sory!) it's not possible to use the AHCI mode.
The only solution I had found : install CAElinux on a external HD connect on USB plug (so, Ubu V8.04 see the disk).
I've an other problem with the screen resolution. no drivers are intalled and no proposition from update. "ATI 5870 1380*1050"

The latest version of CAELinux2010 runs Ubuntu10.4.

The safest method I would advise for dual boot scenarios is to install CAELinux1020 on a separate internal HD if you have the physical space for it. Ensure that you have disconnected the existing WinXP (I presume) HD before installing CAELinux2010.

Later on after you reconnect your old hard drive you can tell GRUB (in Linux) to include the WinXP OS to allow you to select the OS at boot time.

All of this requires some hardware skills and knowledge. If you are not familiar with what I am advising then do not proceed.

I am not familiar with the ATI 5870 1380*1050, what is the problem there?
