[Solved] LS Prepost was created by Matthew Bondy
Edit: v2.4 runs in Wine. It does not work perfectly but the issues I have encountered are minor. I think meshes can be exported. This might be a useful package for preprocessing. Creating meshed spheres, cylinders (simple shapes) is really quick and easy. Salome is great but LSPP can create nicely meshed cylinders and spheres in one step. It also automatically meshes surfaces - I have never used this feature though.
It is a better postprocessor but I dont know what file types it works with other than LS DYNA output files.
Original post:
I would like to install LS-PREPOST in CAELinux 2009 (Ubuntu 8.04LTS). On the LSTC website there are several sets of installation files for linux distributions but I dont see Ubuntu or Debian (would it even work?). The available installation files are listed below. Will any of them work? (If one will I would really appreciate an explanation). How well would a Windows version work through Wine?
Edit: I went on the Ubuntu forums and someone suggested I use a package called alien to convert rpm packages available for version 3.0. I have not managed to get ls pre post to work yet but alien sure could be useful.
Thanks,
- Matt Bondy
