Hi Kees,
your right the JMB-sript did not install the libg2c.
I've got a install warning with the indication that it could make problems by running salome.
It did!!!!
It is not possible to use the mesh-module.
I've got following error:
"Can not load library libSMESH.so. libg2c.so.0:
cannot open shared object file:
No such file or directory"
Then I did what you have reported yesterday:
So I added in the file /etc/apt/sources.list the following line at the end:
deb nl.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu hardy-updates main universe
then updated the synaptic package manager,
and searched again for libg2c and added:
- libg2c0
- libg2c0-dev
Removed the last line in the /etc/apt/sources.list.
Now Salome, geometry, mesh and post-pro modules are all running again.
Thank you for your information.
Now 'Salome Meshing Module' starts up. But the meshing does not work.
What can I do next?
By the way following question:
The command 'runSalome' works only if I give in the terminal first the command 'source env.d/salome.sh'?
Is this always necessary?
Best regards

Hoi Marc
Marc, thank you for your information. I just wanted to make sure that I did not overlook the obvious on the libg2c issue.
Concerning the source salome.(c)sh: I also always run that script, otherwise a lot of paths are not set correctly. When I look at the script file, I can understand why. I just made a small script file with four effective lines:
# start salome5.1.2
# echo start salome
cd <Salome_path>/KERNEL_5.1.2
source salome.sh
cd bin/salome
./runSalome
Concerning the "meshing does not work" is more difficult with the information you give. At least on my pc the Netgen 2D/3D and quadrangles work.
Can you give the output of the terminal?
kind regards - kees

Hi Kees,
the meshing is working!
I made a pretty stupid Salome-beginner mistake.
After creating a mesh I forgot to compute the mesh.
Sorry about that.
Fortunately it is working now and the export of the *.unv file works too.
Thanks for your bash scipt.
Kind regards
Marc Aurel
