CAELinux boots into shell was created by Oliver
Hello,
I installed CAELinux onto sda2 on my acer aspire 5920 notebook (GeForce 8600 GS). It worked fine, but two days ago it spoiled the GRUB and the entry for Ubuntu (sda1) was gone. I managed to repair that with the redo-mbr tool. Now CAELinux boots directly into the shell. I can boot with startx (actually I write that note with CAELinux), but all the CAE Software does not work anymore. I am unable the quote any messages, because nothing happens when I double click Salome-Meca.

I removed the NVIDIA driver and reinstalled I, but it didn't work.
Additionally, the audio mixer is gone and thus there is no sound.

I have to shutdown via the shell (halt), because there is no more option for restart or shutdown.

Is there anyone who can help - thanks.

Oliver
