Hello
I'm trying to build a Beta3b VMware version with 200 GB HDD and few modifications. The installation is successful; however, the bootloader is not installed. Therefore, the VMware version does not boot.
Afterward, I used the live DVD to mount my partition and to install a bootloader but it failed. If I install GRUB, it fails without any warning if I install LILO it fails and says:
Installation of bootloader failed. The following error occurred:
: Fatal: Trying to map files from unamed device 0x000f (NFS/RAID mirror down?)
Is there a problem with VMware?
Did you create your VMwaere version from a native partition?
If so how did you convert it to a VMware version?
Thanks for your help

Hello,
I have developped all versions of CAELinux in VMWare for frexibility reasons, but i have never experienced such a problem. When I want to install the distro to a VM, I create a new VM with the presets \"Mandrake Linux\" and that's all...
I have not tried to use or migrate a physical partition into the VM, but I know that it can be quite dangerous to use this option.
Maybe the \"BIOS\" of the VM does not support well very large disks (>160Gb) or it should be configured differently. Try to search the VMWare knowledge base for such problems.
Good luck
