It's been a while...
So, my daily driver, main squeeze, has been A CAELinux box for years. Now, it seems to be complaining about a lack of support. It feels abandoned. It feels like we're putting down an old friend. Gimp is getting a little buggy. Based on 14.04. Yes, I solved a permission problem and upgraded. It has rarely acted rudely. Don't try it at home, Kids. I only remember the torture.
Now, I wonder if anyone has a opinion as to how to load CAELinux 2018 and keep what has been invested after years of abusive computing with CAELinux2013. How many of the other programs and how much data can we bring into the new install? Do we Rsync or DD the Home partition into the new install? Give up and rebuild what is contemporaneously relevant :chunk x chunk.
Thanks,
gdp
