SALOME MECA-2018 can perform Parallel runs ? was created by ing.nicola.dettole
Hi,
in CAELINUX 2018 there are SALOME-MECA 2018 and code aster 13 MPI.
Is possible run multiprocessor simulation in SALOME MECA 2018 ?
When I start a simulation I can't modify the parameters ( number of processors etc.) ... it remains grey and freezed...

Hello, unfortunatelly I did not manage to integrate the parallel solver into Salome Meca AsterStudy interface.
To run parallel jobs, you should then:
1) prepare your input file for parallel execution (define a partitionned model and specify a parallel solver such as Mumps or Petsc) then save the command file to a .comm file
2) save your mesh to a .med file
3) run code aster wizard from Education menu to create a standalone job and run the parallel solver from the standalone ASTK job manager.
It is a bit complicated at first but it can save you a lot of simulation time in the end.

In this
post
is described how launch code_aster from terminal. (no astk)
It is possible for Code_aster MPI in caelinux ? .

Sorry for resurrecting this old thread, but I followed this tutorial in order to create a really simple model of two boxes with a glued contact in the middle and a pressure load on one end and a fixed constraint on the other end:
The model, as shown, runs fine.
But when I go to refine the mesh and then I tried to set up the MPI parallelization, this is the error file that I get:
(please see attachment)
I'm new to CAE Linux, Salome Meca, and Code Aster, so I don't really know nor understand what the error message is telling me, or how to fix it.
If someone can help me enable performing this run using MPI, that would be greatly appreciated.
(I used the Code Aster Wizard as described in order to try and set up the file, but it didn't seem to work and I'm not really sure I understand why. Thank you.)
