Nvidia graphics driver was created by Daniel Struwig
Dear CAE linux users,

I am new to CAE linux and still a rookie in using linux. I have successfully installed CAE Linux 2013 on numerous occasions. I say this because after each installation I try do setup my graphics driver but always seem to create a mess and therefore revert to reinstalling the OS. My system is an ASUS N53 SM with nvidia geforce gt 630m. However when I go to system -> settings -> additional drivers nothing shows up. I have also installed the latest nvidia drivers using ppa:ubunutu-x-swat/x-updates repository but this changes nothing.

I would really appreciate help from the community.
Best regards
Daniel

Not familiar with mobile gfx cards and how well they are supported.
Does 'lsmod' show the nvidia module being loaded?

what does 'glxinfo' say?

Hello daniel.struwig,

I am having the same problem setting up my GT540M Nivdia card on mu Asus N53sv.

I have reinstalled CAELinux 3 times to start fresh.

Have you gotten everything to work for yourself? If so can you share what steps work

Thank you very much,
John
