I installed CAE linux in parallel to windows 7, so in my systems start up i have several options including normal and recovery mode of caelinux. Could you please advice how i can uninstall cae linux in a safe way with less side effects?

Thanks

Hi,
i installed a lot of linuxs but never uninstalled from a pc, except erasing disk completely.
So i'm not an expert for that, but as you got no answer yet, this is what i would do:

1 - restore normal boot for windows. You can check that if you have windows 7:
www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/20864-mbr-...ter-boot-record.html

2 - if it worked, you can not boot into linux anymore. Then the only thing left to do is get the space back for windows on the hard drive. What to do depends on your hard drive configuration, but there might be at least these 2 ways:
a - use windows hard drive management tools to delete linux partition(s) and make fat32 or ntfs partitions instead, so windows can use that
b - reboot with a linux live cd or usb key, and launch gparted or equivalent to delete linux partitions, and grow windows partitions to get all the hard drive space

Hope that helps,
Dimitri
