installing CAELinux2008 was created by danielerossi74
Dear all,

I have tried to instal CAELinux 2008 on my old laptop.

Downloaded the file ftp://cae-linux:salome@caelinux.dyndns.org/distrib/caelinux2008.1/CAELinux2008.iso I have followed the installation instruction but at the end of the installation the system start directly with Windows without to show me the dual boot.

Can anyone help me with suggestions?

Thanks
Daniele

Hello,

How did you install CAE Linux? On a flash drive, or with a Live CD ?

If you're running it on a Live CD or USB for the first time, try to change the boot order in the BIOS. To enter the BIOS, you have to hit a key such as f1 when the computer is booting. Google " Enter bios <name of your computer> key".

Once you're in, go in Boot order and put the CD drive or USB drive first!

Then save and restart, you should be able to boot on linux!

Thanks for suggestion!

I have already resolved the problem.

At the end of installation of CAE Linux I did install the Grub on the same partition of the hard disk, named hd2, where I did install CAE Linux and this was wrong.
The grub must be installed on the main disk, named hd.

Best regards

Daniele
