CAElinux on Macbook Pro? was created by JoHo
Hello I am new here to the forum and also to CAElinux. I have read about CAElinux online and it sounds awesome so I would like to try it out but...

1) I can't get it to work on live CD

2) I can't get it to work on live USB

3) I want to create a partition on my internal HDD and install CAElinux onto it

I understand that these are 3 distinctly different technical questions but they are theoretically all similar in that they are mac-specific. In the mac world there are very few good choices for eng/sci software, CAElinux may be us mac users' best bet.

My specific computer is an early 2011 macbook pro, 2.0 ghz i7 processor, running OSX 10.9.1 if that helps.

I used "mac linux usb loader" to create a live usb that a mac can boot from, but when I try it it doesn't work???

When I try from the live USB it says:

Welcome to Enterprise! -0.1

Available boot options:
Press the key corresponding to the number of the option that you want.

1) Boot Linux from ISO file
2) Modify Linux kernel boot options (advanced!)

Press any other key to reboot the system.

So then I press 1 and then it says:

kernel path: /casper/vmlinuz I ramdisc path: /casper/initrd.lz
boot parameters:

Loading Linux kernel...done

alloc magic is broken at 0x85239b20: 207d007d6876170
Aborted. Press any key to exit._

I don't have a clue what that means, but I really want to use CAElinux. If anyone else is trying to boot macbook pro with CAElinux and find a way that works please let me know. Can I use a virtual machine? Can I create a partition on my HD and install CAElinux to it (that would be ideal if so)?
