First off......love the fact that you made this disto. Keep up the good work!

Next, the install for 2013 went great for me but I am still new at Linux in general and was wondering since this is just a beta should all the software in CAELinux be fully funtional? Salome-Meca doesn't seem to be working for me, all I get is a gray screen, am I missing something or is this version of Salome so much different that I dont know how to use it properly?

Edit: I resonably confident that Salome is loading geometry because when I import a .stp file nothing errors and when I click where the geometry should be it hilights in the model tree to the left.

Reason for asking is 2011 works pretty good for me but I use a virtual machine to run CAELinux and I am having alot of video driver issues and what I belive are bugs in Salome causing me issues. The version of Salome on 2013 seems less buggy (minus the whole not being able to see anything part )

Any help is greatly appreciated.


2nd Edit: Disregard, for some reason restarting the VM a couple of times jogged something. I now have graphics.....horray! ........but I still have video driver issues ....damnit

Ok, so after a little more research/trial/error it appears this is an issue with virtual box (the virtual machine software I am using) not allowing installation of video drivers (it uses guest addition drivers). So I guess CAELinux 2013 is bug free so far. Again great work on making all this software available in one place, I am really enjoying it.
