Upgrade to Salome 3.2.1 after HD install was created by phsieh2005
Hi,
I am planning to install Salome using the CAELinux liveDVD. This will install the OS + Salome v2.2.8. How to upgrade to Salome v3.2.1 from this? Do I download the Debian Sage binary version and follow the Salome installation wizard?
Thanks!

Hi,
if you cannot wait for Beta 3, you should first download Mandrake 10 version and install with default options (do not specify an xml file)... and that's all.
note that you will need to run salome from command line:
first define env variables: . /opt/salome/env_products.sh
then run the program: /opt/salome/KERNEL*/bin/salome/runSalome
(or similar...)

Thanks for the reply!
I installed OpenFOAM and elmer on a SuSE 10.1 64 bit system. I tried to installed Salome 3.2.1 on the same OS and I am still not successful.
Yesterday, I was able to install Salome 3.2.1 on a Mandriva 2006 system (32 bit). This is an old computer and it is slow. But, Salome 3.2.1 looked pretty good. I am going to try the SuSE 64 bit OS again later.
